Jyoti… Jeni-Laura, known to her friends as “Jyoti”, founded the 4th Consciousness practice in 2004. She has accumulated well over 2,000 hours of diverse training; 630 hours specifically dedicated to massage, and the rest in chiropractic medical and neurological training, which provides additional benefits to our clients, unparalleled with any massage therapy practitioner in North Texas. Jyoti is currently enrolled at Parker College of Chiropractic and will graduate in 2009-2010 as a chiropractic neurologist.
Jyoti has a passion for learning and doing her own research, and her interests include natural/holistic medicine, history, creative writing and poetry, composing, martial arts, yoga, Ayurveda, philosophy, world religions, and the Simpsons. On the rare occasions when she is not in session or studying, she enjoys listening to eclectic music and playing with the two cats.
Jay… Jay joined Jyoti in their therapeutic practice mid-2005. Jay also has accumulated the same 2,000+ hours of massage therapy, chiropractic, and neurological training. Jay is also currently enrolled at Parker and will graduate in 2009-2010 as a chirorpactic neurologist.
Jay has recently retired from a 19-year-long career as a 9-1-1 operator to follow his dreams. He has also been a ham radio operator for 21 years and has a love for the martial arts disciplines of kung fu and aikido. On the rare occasions when he isn’t pouring over the books or giving a massage, he enjoys spending quality time playing with the cats, drumming to music, or watching a great movie.
The Team… We consider prevention to be the best cure, and natural methods to be the best, most effective treatment. Rarely, if ever, is there a magic bullet or a quick fix; more rarely still is the most appropriate treatment popping a pill or going under the knife.
Our vision is clear, our goals defined. We believe that massage therapy and bodywork play a significant part of a comprehensive natural lifestyle that also includes proper nourishment, regular detoxification cleansing, regular chiropractic care, acupuncture, meridian rebalancing, physical and mental exercise, plenty of water, breathing deeply, maintaining a positive outlook on life, loving your neighbors, friends, and family, and laughing a whole lot!
We moved to Dallas in early 2001 and went back to college, earning our Associate’s Degrees in Science shortly thereafter. We have begun our journey through the Doctor of Chiropractic/Bachelor of Science program at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, one of the best chiropractic universities in the world. After three intense and challenging—yet rewarding—years of 50-hour+ weeks, we will both become chiropractors. From there, we will go on to become licensed acupuncturists, and perhaps nutritionists and/or herbalists. Jyoti would like to study Ayurvedic medicine, the ancient and effective healing system of India, in order to add Ayurveda to what will become our one-stop-shop mom-&-pop wellness clinic. And after becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic, Jay is researching the possibility of becoming a Medical Doctor as well (it never hurts to have an M.D. on our side). We hope that as lifelong clients, you all will enjoy accompanying us on our journey and making our visions of health and wellness a reality!
